چکیده
Presence of pathogens on the cellphones and their accessories poses a significant risk for public health. This study aimed to determine biofilm-forming capability S. aureus E. coli pieces made from different commercially available cell phone aadditionally test effectiveness most common sanitizers. Therefore, bacterial biofilm biomasses were quantitatively determined cellphone covers using crystal violet assay in presence absence revealed that could form biofilms surfaces all covers. Additionally, sanitizers contain sodium hypochlorite 5.25% those composed 38.9% ethanol 0.05% dodecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride showed highest log reduction number viable cells after 5 minutes exposure against formed by both compared other tested (chloroxylenol 4.8%, 2-propanol 64%, 70%). Moreover, 4.8% chloroxylenol 70% ethanol-based reductions significantly higher than 2-propanol-based ones. In conclusion, shown be suitable microbial formation produced . The antimicrobial activity these was variable, with ethanol/dodecyl sanitizer being effective.

Sensitivity of Escherichia coli O157:H7 to commercially available alkaline cleaners and subsequent resistance to heat and sanitizers.
The effects of seven commercially available alkaline cleaners used in the food processing industry, 0.025 M NaOH, and 0.025 M KOH on viability of wild-type (EDL 933) and rpoS-deficient (FRIK 816-3) strains of Escherichia coli O157:H7 in logarithmic and stationary phases of growth were determined. Cells were treated at 4 or 23 degrees C for 2, 10, or 30 min. Cleaners 2, 4, 6, and 7, which contai...
متن کاملBiofilm formation by Staphylococcus aureus from food contact surfaces in a meat-based broth and sensitivity to sanitizers
This study assessed the capacity of adhesion, the detachment kinetic and the biofilm formation by Staphylococcus aureus isolated from food services on stainless steel and polypropylene surfaces (2 × 2 cm) when cultivated in a meat-based broth at 28 and 7 °C. It was also to study the efficacy of the sanitizers sodium hypochlorite (250 mg/L) and peracetic acid (30 mg/L) in inactivating the bacter...
متن کاملSusceptibility of biofilm Escherichia coli, Salmonella Enteritidis and Staphylococcus aureus to detergents and sanitizers.
This study was conducted to investigate the susceptibility of the biofilm cells of Escherichia coli O157, Salmonella Enteritidis, and Staphylococcus aureus to some cleaning detergents and sanitizers. No weakly acidic, neutral, and weakly alkaline detergent could remove the biofilm bacteria from stainless steel chips at commonly used concentrations recommended by manufacturers. Among sanitizers,...
متن کاملEfficiency of Cu, Ag, and Fe Nanoparticles As Detergents Preservatives Against E. coli and S. aureus
In this study, Cu, Ag, and Fe nanoparticles (NPs) are used in shampoo, hand washing liquid (HWL) and dish washing liquid (DWL) instead of the conventional synthetic preservatives such as isothiazolinones; since the latter often act as potent sensitizers that leads to development of allergic contact dermatitis. The above NPs are considerably effective against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus ...

Abstract Background and Objective: Biofilm is a complex microbial community embedded in a self-produced extracellular polymeric matrix. We aimed to study the extent of biofilm formation by S. Areas isolates and its relation to some phenotypic and genotypic criteria. Material and Methods: One hundred-fifty strains of Staphylococcus aureus isolated from Gorgan were studied. Microtiter plate a...
